STEVEN LIGHT-ORR

Steven Light-Orr's early work as a production and lighting designer for theater naturally led to work in the art department for film, television and commercials, as well as to industrial and experiential design.

Steven just wrapped his first horror film, set designing They Follow, reuniting with David Robert Mitchell on his follow-up to the cult classic It Follows. He is excited to see that the Damon Lindelof- and Chris Mundy-led DC Comics Lanterns has been released to critical acclaim, on which he worked as a set designer. Previously, he had art directed season 3 of HBO's The Comeback, created by Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow. He also set designed seasons 16, 17 and 18 of Criminal Minds after working on the second season of Kumail Nanjiani's Little America, as well as Boston Strangler for Warner Brothers starring Keira Knightley. He art directed Head of the Class for HBO Max and set designed The Shrink Next Door for Apple TV. Previously, he set designed reshoots for Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead and was brought in to set design Ryan Murphy's The Prom and American Horror Story: 1984. One of Steven's greatest experiences was art directing James Cameron's Avatar II: The Way of Water and Avatar III: Fire and Ash. He art directed and set designed Under the Silver Lake, directed by David Robert Mitchell, and assistant art directed Netflix's production of A Futile and Stupid Gesture, directed by David Wain.

Film career highlights include The Lego Movie, State of Play, Pirates of the Caribbean II and III, Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events and Ang Lee's Hulk. Some of Steven's television credits include Sherman's Showcase, Grandfathered, Pushing Daisies, Parks and Recreation, and Weeds.
